In the past years I had attempted to get my GED.  As a single mother of two it was hard to attend classes because I worked 2 and sometimes 3 jobs just to keep a roof over my family’s heads. It has always been my goal to get my high school diploma or GED. 24 years later I knew it was time. One, I have more time and two, I have a lot of support. My main goal is to work in the medical field.  I called around and found out about different schools that were DEAC approved. I called Citizens’ High School and left a message.  I was called back within a day. Liz answered all of the questions that I had and she was very supportive from beginning to end. The program itself is very affordable. I had 6 courses that I needed to get my high school diploma.  I’m proud to say that I completed them within 7 weeks!   ???? I set my mind to get it done and I did it!  I finally reached my goal and now I’m so proud of having my high school diploma. My daughters are proud of me which brings happiness to my heart.

My experience with CHS was amazing.  The staff encouraged me to reach my goals and told me I could work at my own pace. It was all up to me on how long I wanted to spend doing the book work. I completed my studies while dealing with my job, 2 daughters and 4 grandkids. So as you can see, it was pretty crazy, but definitely do-able!

I would recommend CHS because it’s a great program for what you want to accomplish, at your own pace.  The staff is friendly and will answer any questions you have. They grade your exams in a timely manner and they encourage you to succeed, which meant a lot to me. I personally met with the Principal of the school, Dr. James P. Etter.  He’s working at changing things to make the school even better than before! He made me feel that he really wants everyone to succeed and fulfill their goals. Getting my High School Diploma was definitely one of the best thing that I could have ever done in my life.  I can proudly say, that now, at the age of 44, I’ve decided to broaden my horizons and enroll in college.  The sky is the limit!

I recently had my 10-year high school anniversary—I am a 2007 graduate of Citizens High School. I have a pretty amazing success story that I thought you might like to hear.

Right after graduating from citizens high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. I graduated basic military training as an honor graduate, prior to attending Intelligence technical school. I graduated from my intelligence class with academic honors, and was selected for a special assignment to become a “drone” camera operator. I deployed to Iraq in 2009 and provided base defense coverage for Balad Air Base. In 2010, I moved to Holloman AFB where I was quickly upgraded to become an instructor. In 2011, I graduated with two Associate of Applied Science degrees from the Community College of the Air Force—one in Intelligence Studies, and the other in Air and Space Operations. In 2012, I was promoted to Staff Sergeant and I graduated from the American Military University with a Bachelor of Arts in Management. I was selected to attend Air Force Officer Training School and then pilot training. I graduated Air Force pilot training in 2014, and I currently fly the UH-1N “Huey” helicopter out of Wyoming. I am an active duty Air Force Captain, and I just recently graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership (Class of 2017). I have aspirations to attend law school with a focus in business law.

I was Citizens High School graduate of the month for July 2008! I’d like to offer my sincere thanks to Citizens High School for setting me up for my many successes and accomplishments.

I would like to thank Citizens’ High School for the opportunity to move forward with my education. As an adult, living in the United Arab Emirates and with a very busy schedule, going to school was out of the question. Citizens’ High School gave me the flexibility to get my High School Diploma. The support team was always there for me in every single step. The new challenge is to finish college. I can’t hardly believe it!! I am enrolling in the University in Madrid.
